Hoy quería hablar de un tema que para mi es algo importante, y eso son los cosméticos testado en animales. Antes de nada, quiero aclarar que esto no es solo el típico "no al maltrato animal", sino cosas que también incumbe a quién éstos le den igual.
Today I wanted to talk about a important topic to me, and that is cosmetics tested on animals. First of all, I want to clarify that this is not he typical "not to animal abuse" but things that also concern those who don't care about animals.
Sin más preámbulos, voy a exponer algunos puntos para todos los interesados.
Without further ado, I'll present some points for all concerned.
Porqué no comprar productos testados en animales/Why not to buy animal tested products:
- Maltrato/ Abuse.
Los animales no están ahí por gusto, a ellos los cosméticos les dan exactamente igual y a los que les utilizan para testar les da igual hacerles daño. No les importa si deben golpearles y dejarles malheridos y moribundos, al fin y al cabo no son ellos quienes sienten el dolor. No les importa si les están sometiendo a algún producto que podría provocarles cualquier enfermedad o cosas peores.
Animals aren't there because they like to, they care nothing about cosmetics and those who use animals for testing also care nothing about hurting them. They don't care if they have to hit those animals and leave them badly hurt or dying, after all they're not the ones who feel the pain. They don't care if animals are subjected to a product that could cause any disease or worse.
- La piel de un animal no es la de un humano/ Animal skin is not like human's.
Si eres de los que pasa de los animales, piensa en esto. La piel humana (en especial en el rostro) no es la misma que la de una animal. Se puede parecer pero no es lo mismo, lo queramos o no. ¿Qué supone esto? Que realmente no tiene porqué funcionar bien sobre nuestra piel, porque no somos conejos o cerdos, y aunque nos parezcamos, tampoco somos monos.
If you don't care about animals think of this. Human skin (especially in the face) is not the same skin an animal has. It could be similar but not the same, willy-nilly. What does this mean? It really doesn't have to work in our skin because we're not rabbits or pigs, and althoughh we resemble, we're not monkeys.
- ¿Productos peligrosos?/ Dangerous products?
Esta es otra gran duda que me surge... Si necesitan probar que no sean peligrosos es porque algo malo deben llevar. Hubo una época -a saber si actualmente es igual- en la había plomo en los labiales, y tengamos en cuenta que el pintalabios, algo que ingerimos de forma inconsciente. Es solo un ejemplo de los muchos que pueden haber.
This is another big question that arises me... If they need to test if it's not dangerous it's because something bad must have. There was a time -I don't know if it's still the same- when there was lead in the lipstick, something we eat unconsciously. It's just an example of many that can be happening.
Cómo saber qué productos son Cruelty Free/ How to know what products are cruelty free.
Debería haber un logo con un conejito indicando que es Cruelty Free o uno que indique que es un producto vegano. Hay logos falsos, así que os dejaré ejemplos abajo.
Should be a logo with a bunny indicating that's Cruelty Free or one that indicates it's a vegan product. There are false logos, so I'll leave you some examples bellow.

Otra forma de saber si los han testado en animales es mirar el país de origen. En China es obligatorio probar los productos en animales, mientras que en Europa está penado. Pese a ello, en algunos lugares de Europa no se respeta esta ley, por eso hay que informarse también antes de comprar.
Another way to tell if they're not tested on animals is look for the origin country. In China is mandatory testing their producs on animals, while in Europe it's punishable. Nevertheless, is some parts of Europe this law is not respected, so we must also inquire before buying.
También sabemos que es Cruelty Free si es un producto vegano, o sea, no tiene químicos siquiera, solo productos naturales.
We also know that it's Cruelty Free if it's a vegan product, that is, has not even chemicals, just natural products.
Opinión personal/ Personal opinion:
Adoro a los animales y no creo que merezcan ser maltratados de ninguna manera. Son más puros que los humanos, no dañan sin motivos y aunque algunos crean que no tienen sentimientos en más de una ocasión se ha demostrado lo opuesto.
I love animals and I don't think they deserve being abused in any way. They're purer that humans, they don't hurt others with no reason and although some people think they have no feelings in more than one time has been proved the opposite.
Sumamos lo anterior a que mi piel es muy sensible, no puedo arriesgarme a que un producto contenga a saber qué cosa y me fastidie el rostro, o peor, que me haga enfermar porque hayan utilizado cosas que no debían.
Add the above plus my skin is very sensitive, I can't risk myself to use a product that contains who knows what stuff and shred my face, or worse, that could cause me an illness because they used things they shouldn't have to.
Sé que hay grandes marcas y muy buenas que prueban con animales (posiblemente las más populares), pero también hay marcas muy buenas Cruelty Free, Ben Nye es un ejemplo. Sus cosméticos son para cine y teatro, así que tienen buena calidad y encima a un precio más económico que otros.
I know there are great marks that tests with animals (possibly the most populars), but there are also great Cruelty Free brands, Ben Nye is an example. Their cosmetics are for films and theater, so they have good quality and are cheaper than others.
